Half-Day Coffee

Half Day is a small café located inside Sheets on the Line, a retail home shop in Paddington, Brisbane. It is not a fine diner. It is not a gourmet café. It does not even serve Avocado on Toast. But it has great coffee, a great three cheese toasty and plenty of hospitality.

Simplicity is the key to good hospitality. Simple is sometimes hard. But at Half-Day the owners have matched great commensality with excellent coffee and range of bakery snacks.

Half Day is open for half a day – from 6.30am to about 1pm. It serves terrific coffee sourced from Five Senses – as well as organic teas, cold-pressed juice and hot chocolate. Indulge in a hot prosciutto & cheese croissant, or a triple cheese toasty on organic sourdough – or select from a range of decadent fresh pastries from Leavain Bakery or perhaps a pie from Joselyn’s Provisions. Order a coffee and discuss the important issues of the day with the barista. Sit on the front veranda and watch the world pass by.

This is not an overpriced hipster trendy café – but a simple honest coffee stop. Well made coffee with a range of excellent snacks overlooking Paddington – popular with regulars, locals and the surrounding shops. And dog friendly. HalfDay is certainly worthy of stopping at.
